Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

At Walk between the Lines we listen to the people. So after complaints about the drumming in that Bad Chopper track, here some nice metronome proof work by a major label hired session drummer.

The Rebel Yell break - “I walked the ward with you, babe / A thousand miles with you” - is one of the most recognizable and one of the best in rock music. And dance music, because both the song and the break remain great even when Idol’s sexy croon is replaced by teutonic shouting and a completely nuanceless four-to-the-floor beat is put underneath, as proven by Scooter in the Roman Polanksi inspired video of their cover.

I do a pretty decent cover myself on Guitar Hero. Somehow it’s about the only song I can sing well (and that’s not just because it’s easy, because people who do well on other songs have problems with it.)
